Laboratory

Medical Lab Technologist - FT

Summary: To perform various chemical, microscopic, and bacteriological tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Follow all laboratory policies and procedures including Quality Control, Maintenance, and Safety and Infection Control. To assist in the collection of information in monitoring ongoing Laboratory and Hospital Quality Assessment/Quality Improvement. Assist in the training of students and orientation of new laboratory staff.

Qualifications:

1. Two years of college with courses in biology, chemistry, and mathematics. An associate of Arts degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
2. Registration by the Registry Boards of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists desires.
3. One year experience as Medical Technician is desired.

Coryell Medical Clinic

Clinic Nurse Manager RN - FT

Summary: Under the general supervision of the Clinic Administrator, Clinic Manager and Medical Director, this position is responsible for providing physician support and supervising clinical staff in a physician office practice.   They are responsible for maintaining adequate supplies and medications, appropriate staffing levels, resident education and training, and quality of clinical functions to ensure efficiency/productivity of the Physician Office.  Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Qualifications:

1.  Knowledgeable in adult learning principles
2.  Ability to facilitate communication and problem solving with patients, families, staff, physicians, and various levels of administration.
3.  Physician office workflows or similar, i.e., Emergency Room or Urgent Care
4.  Basic Life Support
5.  Associate degree of nursing, and licensed in the state of Texas

LVN – FT

Summary: Provides clinic nursing services and assists medical provider with examinations and procedures. Maintains and updates patient medical records according to age specific needs. Maintains and orders supply and medication inventory. Performs quality control checks and maintains logs as appropriate. Utilizes Standard Precautions in all care. 

Qualifications:

1.  High School diploma or equivalent

Certified Registered Medical Assistant - FT            

Summary: Under the direction of a physician, assist in the delivery of health care for patients.  Performs a wide variety of patient care activities including, but not limited to, maintenance of clinical record/documentation, administering medications, giving injections, and taking vital signs, processing refill request, assisting with office procedures, scheduling appointments and EKG’s.  Able to work in a team environment.  Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor at all times. 

Qualifications:

1. Ability to facilitate communication and problem solving with patients, families, staff physicians, and administration.

3. Certified in the State of Texas as a Certified Medical Assistant

Registration Clerk - FT

Summary: Receives visitors/patients, determining their needs politely and directs them accordingly.  Schedules appointments, receives payments, and collects co-pays and issues receipts as applicable.  Enters appropriate data into the computer. 

Qualifications:

3. Typing and office equipment experience to include computer operations.

Wound Care Clinic

LVN - PRN to work 3-4 half days per week

Summary: The wound Care LVN is responsible for all assigned nursing care activities to include but not limited
to wound care for patients of all ages and other clinical activities associated with providing safe patient
care. The LVN is responsible for following all Wound Care Clinic policies and procedures, care protocols and
Diversified Clinical Services Practice Guidelines, as directed by a Registered Nurse, or Physician.
The LVN will be responsible for assisting with patient and wound care data conferences, and
continuing education is required as determined by the Program Director.

Qualifications:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Licensed by the State Board of Nurses as a Licensed Vocational Nurse
2. The LVN must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care
to patients served on his/her assigned unit as described in unit based competencies, policies
and procedures.
3. In collaboration with other staff members, provides bedside patient care, implementing the
interventions identified in the plan of care, as directed by RN.

Nursing - (Med/Surg, Welcome ED/ICU and Surgery)

ED/ICU: RN - FT & PRN Night Shift

Summary:  The RN is primarily responsible for utilizing the nursing process and emergency nursing standards in providing health needs to the patient in the Emergency Department.

Qualifications:

1.  Licensed and currently registered as a Professional Nurse in the state of Texas or possesses temporary permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas while awaiting receipt of license.
2.  Required to meet qualification criteria during hospital and nursing unit orientation periods.
3.  Prefer one year of professional nursing experience in emergency or critical care clinical setting.
4.  Require current CPR (ACLS certification within one year) and must maintain without lapse.
5.  Must have PALS within one year of employment and must maintain without lapse.
6.  Must have NIHSS certification within six months of hire and maintain without lapse.
7.  Must have TNCC certification within eighteen months of hire and must maintain without lapse.
8.  Must have basic EKG and/or arrhythmia course within six months of employment.
9.  May satisfy requirements with documentation from previous experience.

ED: ER Technician PRN 11am to 11pm

Summary: Caring for and treating patients in a manner conductive to their safety and comfort. Performing duties in accordance with established methods and techniques, and in conformance with recognized standards. Provides patient care within limits defined by delegated tasks. Tasks performed under direct supervision of Registered Nurse/Charge Nurse or Physician.

Qualifications:

1. Must be a CNA, EMT, or NT
2. Must have CPR certification.
3. Basic EKG Arrhythmia course.
4. Prior clinical experience preferred.
5. Must be able to write legibly.
6. Must be of good physical and mental health, and possess adequate speech and hearing to communicate well.
7. Should possess the ability to work under close supervision and follow verbal and written instructions.

Med/Surg: RN - PRN Night Shift

Summary: The RN is responsible for utilizing the nursing process in providing the health care needs of assigned patients.

Qualifications:

2. Meets criteria during hospital and nursing unit orientation periods.
3. Require current CPR (ACLS certification within one year) and must maintain without lapse.

Welcome: CNA & CMA - FT Evening/Night Shift

Summary: The primary purpose of your job position is to assist in the administering of medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician, under the direction of the attending physician, the nurse supervisor or charge nurse, and the Director of Nursing Services.  The administration of medications shall be in accordance with established nursing standards, the policies, procedures, and practices of this facility, and the requirements of this state.
As a Certified Medication Aide, you are delegated the authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.

Diagnostic Imaging

PRN Radiological Technologist needed.  CT experience helpful, but not mandatory.

Summary:  Performs in accordance with physician prescription those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying radiation and other forms of energy used in diagnostic imaging.  Assists in collecting and reporting data to insure performance improvement.  Utilizes proper Radiation and MRI Safety procedures.  Understands and efficiently uses all computerized programs in the department to include electronic EMR, PACS and equipment.  Transports patients and completes clerical assignments. 

Qualifications:

1.  Graduate of approved and accredited school of radiological technology
2.  Certified with the State of Texas as MRT
3.  Registered or Registry eligible with the ARRT
4.  Must have basic computer skills
5.  Must provide quality customer service to both internal and external customers

Physical Therapy              

Speech Therapist - PRN

Summary:  Conducts evaluation, rehabilitation, and training in the areas of speech and language disorders. Works under the general direction of the policies and procedures of the hospital, and, as appropriate, under the policies of contract facilities and the referring physician.  Under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapy Director.

Qualifications: 

1.  Must possess a current State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology license
2.  1 - 2 years of experience preferred
3.  Must be experienced in performing MBS and providing treatment for dysphagia (Vital Stim certified preferred)

Materials Management

Housekeeping - FT Evening

Summary:  Performs in accordance with established policy and procedures those duties directly involved with maintaining a sanitary, attractive, safe and orderly environment for patients, staff and visitors.

Qualifications:

1.  High School diploma or equivalent
2.  Experience in housekeeping
3.  Ability to follow oral and written instructions

Nutritional Services:

Cook - FT

Summary: Under the direction of the Food Service Supervisor, prepares food as planned on cycle menu, using standardized recipes. Correctly portions and serves food. Uses accepted storage techniques. Maintains a sanitation standard, follows safety regulations, keeps record as required. Supervises and trains Food Service staff members, upholds policies of Coryell Memorial Hospital and its long term care facilities. One year of experience preferred.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Must be Food Protection Management Certified.
3. Must have institutional food service experience, including knowledge of food production, therapeutic diets, and sanitation.
4. Must be able to work flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, depending upon the needs of CMH and its long-term facility as directed.
5. Must be able to read, write, and communicate orally in English.

Home Health

CNA - FT and PRN

Summary:  Cares for and treat patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort of their own homes.  Performs duties in accordance with established methods and techniques, and in conformance with recognized standards.  Provides patient care within limits defined by delegated tasks.  Tasks are performed under direct supervision of a Nurse/Charge Nurse or Physician.

Home Care Attendants - PRN

Summary:  Furnishes personal care to patients in their home within the scope of their abilities and in accordance with the policies set forth by the agency under the supervision of a registered nurse.  Attendants are needed to cover the Gatesville, Moody, Oglesby, Copperas Cove, Evant and Goldthwaite areas.

Emergency Medical Services

ED Scribe - FT and PRN

Summary:  Works under the direct supervision of the on duty ER Physician or other Physicians as assigned.  Provides direct assistance to the physician in non-direct care areas such as documentation, coordination, and time management.

Qualifications:

1.  High School Diploma or equivalent
2.  Able to type effectively with minimal errors
3.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office and patient care documentation programs
4.  Excellent Communications Skills
5.  Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy and physiology (formal courses preferred)

Duties:

1.  Accompany the physician during patient interactions
2.  Document patient (surgical, family, social, medical) history, history of present illness, review of systems, medications, and allergies
3.  Document physical exam findings
4.  Document lab and radiology results
5.  Keep track of chronology of patient care activities (consults, procedures, re-examination, etc.)
6.  Facilitate physician/patient interaction by reducing external distractions
7.  Assist the physician as assigned

The Meadows Rehabilitation and Long Term Care

MDS Coordinator:  RN Full Time

Summary: The primary purpose of your job position is to coordinate delivery of services to managed care and Medicare residents in collaboration with the facility’s team members. The Case Manager monitors and documents the cost effectiveness of treatment provided, facilitates and coordinates the admission and discharge process, serves as the resident and family advocate and acts as a liaison to insurance and medical management professionals.

Qualifications:

1. Participate in the admission process including pre-admission assessment, rate negotiations, benefit verification care needs and reporting.
2. Assist interdisciplinary team in planning for admission and ensure staff are adequately prepared to meet needs of the managed care/Medicare resident on admission.
3. Greet newly admitted managed care and Medicare residents upon admission. Escort them to their rooms as necessary.
4. Participate in marketing functions as deemed appropriate to assist with increasing managed care and Medicare census.
5. Must hold a State or Compact Licensure for RN
6. Experience Preferred

Nursing Supervisor/Treatment Nurse: LVN or RN Full Time

Summary: The primary purpose of your job position is to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility during your tour of duty. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing Services, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

Qualifications:

1. State or Compact Licensed RN or LVN
2. Ensure that all nursing service personnel comply with the procedures set forth in the Nursing Service Procedures Manual.
3. Implement recommendations from established committees as instructed by the Director.
4. Ensure that a sufficient number of licensed practical and/or registered nurses are available for your tour of duty to ensure that quality care is maintained.
5. Ensure that a sufficient number of certified nursing assistants are available for your tour of duty to ensure that routine nursing care is provided to meet the daily nursing care needs of each resident.
6. Develop work assignments, and/or assist in completing and performing such tasks.

LVN - FT Night Charge Nurse

Summary:  Position is to provide direct nursing care to the residents, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing Services or Nurse Supervisor to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
 
Qualifications:

1. Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern The Meadows.
2. Ensure that all nursing personnel assigned to you comply with the written policies and procedures established by this facility.
3. Periodically review the department’s policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc. Make recommendations for revisions.
4. Meet with your assigned nursing staff, as well as support personnel, in planning the shifts’ services, programs, and activities.
5. Ensure that the Nursing Service Procedures Manual is current and reflects the day-to-day nursing procedures performed in this facility.
6. Ensure that all nursing service personnel comply with the procedures set forth in the Nursing Service Procedures Manual.
