Thank you to all the businesses, residents' families and staff members who donated candy. You helped make this a very Happy Halloween for our residents and children in our community!

The Indians Beat the Pilgrims...
in CMHS's Food for Families Drive

Food donated by CMHS employees

CMHS employees decided to compete for the most Food for Families donations to help families in our area. The Indians, employees with last names beginning with A-M, triumphed over the Pilgrims, N-Z. However, both teams performed well.

Through the combined efforts of the Indians and Pilgrims, Coryell Memorial Healthcare System and CMHS Volunteers collected a total of $4,392.03 in cash and food donations.

Students Bring Beauty to The Meadows

A Meadows resident sits in the garden.

The Meadows is blooming thanks to two groups of Gatesville High School students. The art class volunteered their time to paint the fence surrounding the garden of the Special Care Unit. The residents enjoy the brightly colored mural and appreciate the students' hard work. Separately, Mr. Baize's woodshop classes constructed several raised planters for The Meadows. This allowed the residents, even those in wheelchairs, to participate in planting flowers.

  Country Fair
The Welcome and Oaks held a "Country Fair" on August 17th that featured entertainment and fun for all the residents. Activities included "fishing" for prizes, bluegrass music, horse-drawn wagon rides, balloon darts and snacks. Thank you to Coryell Home Health and Lincare for their contributions.

Relay for Life

CMHS participated in the Relay for Life May 18-19. This event helps raise money for the fight against cancer. CMHS team members held several fundraisers and were named a Bronze Team, meaning they raised over $1500. The team also earned the title of "Best Campsite" for their booth, which featured syringes, a bed pan and stuffed animals dressed as doctors or patients. Thanks to everyone who helped make the event a success!
