Coryell Memorial Hospital
|
|
|
|
|
 |
|
The centerpiece of the healthcare system is
the fully accredited, licensed 55-bed hospital. The hospital provides
quality healthcare with small town hospitality. It is served by
three hospitalists, a
surgeon, licensed nurses and
ancillary staff. Most health needs can be met here and specialty
services are always available through Scott & White and other surrounding
hospitals. Physical,
occupational, and speech therapies, respiratory, diagnostic
imaging, pharmacy and laboratory services are all available in-house.
For critically ill patients, our four-bed Intensive Care Unit and
skilled staff are ready to provide the best care to stabilize the patient and
put them on the path to recovery.
The surgical department performs a variety of surgeries in a modern facility
with excellent staff. The small staff allows for personal care and continuity of
service. Examples of surgeries performed include skin cancer biopsies,
mastectomies, hernias, gall bladders, wound debridement, and endoscopic
procedures such as EGD and colonoscopies. |

Emergency Department |
|
|
|
|
|
When seconds count, the Emergency Department (ED)
swings into action to give life-saving care. Coryell Memorial Healthcare System
recently updated its ED with six new patient rooms and other upgrades. The new
facility covers over 5,000 square feet and more than doubles the emergency
room's capacity. It features a fully equipped trauma room, a new helicopter pad,
and new equipment.
This wonderful addition was largely made
possible by the community it serves. Donations large and small
were all instrumental in making this vital expansion possible.
In honor of their "Platinum Founder" level donation, the new ED
has been named the Gary and Diane Heavin Emergency Services.
The Heavins and other donors are listed on a large display in
the ED waiting area and we are all thankful for their dedication
to the health of this community. |

Respiratory Care |

|
Although most of us take it for granted, for some, each
breath is a major accomplishment. These people often receive treatment by a
respiratory care practitioner. The Respiratory Care department serves our
patients in a number of ways including performing stress tests, measuring the capacity of a patient's lungs, using
various equipment to assist with breathing, pulmonary function studies, Holter
monitors, electrocardiograms (EKGs)
and much more.
